My images are born from an intuitive method of creating a narrative. The stories recorded in my paintings come from stream of consciousness or my overhearing a snippet of a conversation from another table while having a drink. One small piece of dialogue heard out of context or the visual flash of seeing something familiar in a new and irreconcilable context give life to my paintings, sculpture and drawings.
If there is an overarching thread running through the works it is a sense of anticipation - what next? I make no conclusions or judgments. When I put my brush down I became as much a viewer as the public. My intent is to create moments of everyday mystery - too often overlooked but essential to making life interesting.
The stories of these relationships are, at times, poignant and humorous.
